At our recent Annual General Meeting, we welcomed our new Chair, Nigel Moore.
Nigel has lived in Knowle for nearly 40 years and has a long-standing interest in the wellbeing and future of the community. He got married whilst living in the area and has 2 children who attended all the local schools. Now retired from a career as a civil engineer working mostly as a consultant / designer, he is excited to bring that knowledge and experience to the role of Chair.
His particularly interested in the local planning and preservation and enhancement of existing and proposed green spaces and is keen to get stuck into the work of helping shape the area’s development in a way that reflects residents’ needs and aspirations, especially at this important time regarding housing development.
Outside of the forum, Nigel enjoys gardening and sport, and you’ll often find him either jogging down the canals and footpaths or at Knowle & Dorridge cricket club.
We’d like to thank our outgoing Chair, Roger. He has been instrumental in providing a calm, guiding hand over the last few years, building strong relationships with stakeholders including the Knowle Society, Visit Knowle and, of course, Solihull Council. He has been a superb team leader who listens to our volunteers, who bring a wide range of expertise and experience. His leadership has put the Forum in the best position it can be as we continue to face major changes to our neighbourhood.
We thank him for his time with the Forum and we wish him well as he retires to Norfolk.
