Dorridge & District Gardening Club

We invite speakers on a variety of gardening topics, usually with slides and often plants for sale. We have a break for refreshments and time for a chat. The annual membership is a modest £10. Visitors are very welcome (£2 fee). At the meetings we hold seasonal flower and vegetable competitions. An annual Flower and Vegetable Show, open to all, is held in August.

Dorridge U3A

With c. 500 local members, we are affiliated to the U3A nationally with the motto learn, laugh, live. Membership is open to all who have retired or are no longer in full time employment. There's a wide range of learning, sporting, and cultural activities, indoor and outdoor, on offer - see website.

Dorridge and District Residents Association

Our volunteer team is dedicated to serving residents and keeping them informed about local social, environmental & community matters. Activities include: village centre improvements, eg replacing damaged trees, pavement levelling, maintaining planters & gardens; reviewing planning proposals; awarding small grants & fund raising; recent creation of Friends of BH Park.

Friends of Dorridge Station

In liaison with the Residents Association, Chiltern Railways and Solihull Council, FODS was set up in 2011 to improve Dorridge station. Since then, the team’s much appreciated work has expanded from just watering planters, to restoring and building new flower beds, creating a 1930’s style waiting room and ‘Incredible Edible’ planter schemes.

Knowle & Dorridge Fundraising Branch - RNLI

We raise funds mainly through collections and sale of Christmas cards. We maintain a high profile for the RNLI through a presence at all local fairs and fetes. Annual income is circa £20k, the largest sources are £8k from a house to house collection over three weeks involving circa 100 helpers and £3k profit from Christmas cards sales..

Knowle Camera Club

We are a friendly local club with members of all abilities, from novice to experienced amateur photographers. Our varied programme includes training and social events; guest speakers discuss their work and offer advice; and we hold independently judged competitions for digital images and prints. Knowle Local History Society

Knowle Local History Society is an independent organisation established to promote the study of the history of Knowle and to provide a public service, including free open meetings. A large digital database of documents, oral history records and over 3000 photographs provides a base for exhibitions, talks, booklets and an enquiry service.

Knowle Male Voice Choir

Knowle Musical Society

Founded in 1962, KMS is an amateur theatre company. We present a show at the Core Theatre, Solihull each March and this year we will present “Hello Dolly”  14 - 18  March 2023. We welcome anyone to come and join  us for this great musical.  See website or contact our secretary for more details.

Knowle Ramblers

For our c. 70 members, we organise two long weekend walks each month, with shorter 4-6 mile walks at least twice monthly in between. We enjoy a number of social events and walking weekends away. Full programme details via our website or Facebook links.

Knowle Society

The Society was formed in 1962 to provide a voice for residents, as they felt they had no influence on changes to their village. Planning is still key, but we put on talks and walks, hold historical archives, liaise with external bodies, enhance the natural & physical environment and undertake projects eg. renovating the children’s playground.

Knowle Society’s Local History committee runs the Local History Centre in Knowle Library where we display and preserve a wealth of information on our local heritage. The Society holds special exhibitions and lectures to help keep knowledge of our local history alive.

Knowle Village Cricket Club

Our club has provided a welcoming community sports facility for over 130 yrs. We have 4 adult teams, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI’s in the Warwickshire CC League. Our junior coaching for 5-15 year olds is in the safe environment of an ECB accredited club, with teams at under 9, 11, 13 & 15 competing in the Warwickshire Youth Leagues.

Revels Drama Group

Revels are a friendly, long established drama group (founded 1949). We perform full-length plays in May and October, plus a pantomime or similar ‘child-friendly’ production in January. Sing! Bentley Heath Community Choir

Sing! Bentley Heath is your friendly, community choir, open to everyone - no auditions or prior singing experience necessary. We sing a variety of songs and styles from pop to swing.  There is no obligation to perform in concerts or in public. Just come along and join in the fun singing.  We raise much needed cash for good causes by doing what we do best - having fun with music!

Solihull Advanced Motorists group (SAM)

SAM is a charity affiliated to IAM RoadSmart (formerly Institute of Advanced Motorists). People join to eg update their driving skills, get rid of bad habits, develop skills as a new/inexperienced driver, improve confidence. The Knowle Flower Club

Established over 55 years ago, we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and friendly group. For a small subscription, our 80+ members enjoy a monthly afternoon flower demonstration led by a range of highly qualified and respected demonstrators. Flower workshops and various social events also run throughout the year. Visitors most welcome for a small fee.

The People's Show Choir

We invite you to a community choir like no other that is part of a family of choirs and orchestras. Experience a wonderful community of like-minded people that do local performances as well as joint massed singing events where 300 choir members sing with a 60-strong orchestra.
